한국방송공사(韓國放送公社, 영어: Korean Broadcasting System, KBS)는 대한민국을 가시청권으로 하는 지상파 방송사이다. 1927년 2월 16일에 경성방송국으로 창립되었고, 1935년에는 조선방송협회를 결성하여 전국에 지역방송국을 설립하였다. 1947년에 서울중앙방송으로 이름을 바꾸었으며 같은 해 약칭을 KBS로 정하였다. 1961년 12월 31일에 TV 방송을 송출하기 시작하였고, 1973년 3월 3일, 공사 창립으로 국영에서 공영으로 전환되었다. 1980년 12월 1일에 동양방송과 동아방송 등 민간방송국을 인수 합병하였으며 컬러 TV 송출을 …
