이슬람교(아랍어: الإسلام al-islām 듣기  , 영어: Islam) 또는 회교(回敎)는 무함마드가 유일신 알라의 사도이자 예언자라고 가르치는 아브라함계 유일신교로, 불교, 기독교, 힌두교와 함께 세계 4대 종교의 하나이다. ‘이슬람’이라는 명칭은 아랍어로 복종·순종을 의미하며, 알라는 아랍어로 정관사 al(알)과 신을 의미하는 일라흐(ilāh)가 붙은 알일라흐가 동화되어 알라흐(알라)가 되었다고 한다. 이슬람을 믿는 신자는 남자일 경우에는 무슬림이라고 하고 여자일 경우에는 무슬리마라고 한다.
